About Us

WHO WE ARE

The Culver City Downtown Business Association (DBA) is led by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of downtown business and property owners whose purpose is to lead the development of downtown Culver City, while preserving its quality of life for those who live, work and play downtown.

Formed as a marketing organization in 1998, the DBA has expanded its focus to providing a clean, vibrant and well maintained downtown. The DBA continues to seek out new ways to promote the district and continues to strengthen public/private partnerships, while advocating for its over 120 members.

WHAT WE DO

Maintenance

The DBA Clean Team is on the streets in downtown daily, providing a variety of services through sidewalk maintenance and landscaping programs.  Some of the services include; sweeping and pressure washing throughout the district, emptying trash cans and cleaning street furniture, graffiti reporting, weed abatement in planters, medians, cleaning and removing trash from sidewalks and tree wells,   plant replacement and the trimming of bushes and shrubs.  The DBA is also responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the decorative tree lights throughout downtown.

Communication/Image

The DBA Board and Staff work to develop marketing partnerships with new and established downtown businesses, as well as investigate tools to market downtown not only as a place to invest, but as a destination. The DBA partners with the City of Culver City and the downtown business community to create a festive holiday atmosphere for downtown and to produce the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.  In addition, the DBA is continually seeking out new and innovative partnership opportunities with other local business districts in Culver City and Los Angeles.

Advocacy

The DBA maintains proactive and ongoing communication with the City on matters related to downtown development and investment, as well as on violations of existing codes related to aesthetics, safety of facades and streetscape, sanitation, and recycling.  The DBA partners with City of Culver City and other organizations (Culver City Chamber, Downtown Residents’ Association, etc.) on advocacy issues and initiatives that impact the quality of life in downtown Culver City and remains in constant communication with the downtown business community about these and other issues which impact them.
